Method1: Transfer music from iPod to another iPod on Mac
- Step1. If you music on your old iPod are all purchased from iTunes store. Connect your iPod to your Mac through the USB cable.
- Step2. Lunch iTunes, iTunes will detect your iPod automatically. Right click on your iPod in iTunes and select "Transfer Purchases". You should see a progress bar in iTunes and your iPod should read “Sync in Progress”. Method1 is only work for purchases songs on iPod. Because iTunes prevent coping non-purchase files from iPod to computer for the copyright protection. If your songs are ripped from CD or downloaded from website like Limewire, YouTube, etc. You will lose the song once you sync iPod with the new Mac empty iTunes library. So you need an iPod to iPod Transfer for Mac to copy the music from your iPod to Mac.
